LANGSOOND – A Shetland Yarn

I’m very excited to be able to announce that my new book has now been printed and it’s on it’s way to Shetland!

The book contains ten knitting patterns using Langsoond DK Shetland yarn, produced from the fleeces from my family’s flock of Shetland sheep, supplemented by those from neighbours’ and friends’ crofts.

The cover image shows the view from the family croft on the island of Burra in Shetland, and the stretch of water at the bottom of the image is known as Langsound (Langsoond in shetland dialect), which mean a long body of water connecting two land masses. This strength of water connects many of the crofts where the fleece comes from and so seemed an appropriate name for the yarn.

Over the next couple of weeks I will be sharing more details and about each pattern and the inspiration behind each.
