Description
This pattern was first available in the Shetland Wool Week Annual 2018, which is packed with exclusive patterns and fascinating essays, against a backdrop of glorious photography which captures Shetland’s rich and varied crofting landscape.
The Foula Snood features an all-over pattern worked in a simple two-colour scheme that can be soft or bold, muted or bright. It is knitted in the round in one long piece and then grafted to form a loop that will wrap around and keep you warm. The snood can be made longer by knitting more repeats but bear in mind you might need more yarn. The project begins with a provisional cast on using the waste yarn, which is removed at the end of the project, allowing you to graft the two ends together. Using a smooth yarn in a contrasting colour will make it easier to remove and pick up stitches.
