Kale Yard Needle Gauge

A wooden needle gauge inspired by a traditional kale yard and but and ben croft houses seen dotted around Shetland. The kale yard (vegetable garden) was traditionally an area surrounded by a stone wall where Shetland kale and other vegetables were grown to feed livestock and the family. The gauge measures needles ranging from 2.0 mm (US 0) – 9.0 mm (US 13). A handy ruler down each side in cm and inches can be used to measure swatches or help to keep track of your knitting project.
